See Bill T. Jones on Channel Thirteen tonight at 8pm, discussing his latest evening-length work, Fondly Do We Hope... Fervently Do We Pray, inspired by the life and legacy of Abraham Lincoln.

The interview will be repeated this Sunday on SundayArts on Thirteen at noon, on WLIW on Sunday at 3pm and again on WLIW on June 29 at 10:30pm. It will also be available online at WNET Thirteen’s website at this link.

Tribute: Frankie Manning

PBS (WNET Channel 13, New York City) will broadcast a special tribute show about Lindy Hop master dancer Frankie Manning on May 21 at 10:30pm.

The documentary features the last major interview of Frankie Manning before his death, as well as precious archival footage of his dancing from the 1930s to 2009 in New York and other spots around the world. The legendary and phenomenal Swing dance scene from “Hellzapoppin” and a
phenomenal duet with his 76-year-old son Chazz will also be featured.

Tavis Smiley hosts Jamison

The Tavis Smiley Show will dedicate an entire segment to a conversation with Judith Jamison, artistic director of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Broadcast nationwide, this program is currently scheduled to air, in the New York metropolitan area, tonight on WNET/Ch 13 at midnight and to be re-broadcast on Monday, March 30 at 1pm.

Celebrating 92Y Harkness

From Martha Graham to current company-in-residence, Doug Varone and Dancers, the grand history of the 92nd Street Y Harkness Dance Center will be celebrated in Spirit of 92nd Street: The Harkness Dance Center at 75--on SundayArts (Thirteen/WNET). The half-hour documentary runs at noon on Sunday, February 15 and Sunday, March 8.
