Planting SEEDS

This summer's SEEDS|Earthdance--"a unique festival dedicated
to Somatic Experiments in Earth, Dance, + Science"--will soon take root in Plainfield, MA (June 9-18):
The theme of this year’s ten-day long SEEDS festival is NOURISHMENT: A crop’s environment—including soil, topography, and climate—imparts a characteristic taste and flavor and must be taken into consideration in cultivation. With care, through interaction, we hope to create an ultra-lush, enriching, and regenerative culture in which to grow our art.
Come for a performance, a film, a research project, a workshop, a jam, or the whole festival!
SEEDS workshops 2010 include:

Benoît Lachambre/Extending the Comfort Zone
K.J. Holmes/Weathering & PineCones (an overnight event)
Pedro Alejandro/Soft Body/Soft Terrain, Open Artist’s Project
Dave Jacke/Eden Arising: Ecological Design as a Spiritual Practice

Plus performances, an ECO jam, discussions, films, artists-in-residence, green m-Art, BodyCartography and more.

Olive Bieringa: Body and Soul podcast (UPDATE)

Olive Bieringa of The BodyCartography Project, based in Minneapolis, talks about plans for next month's SEEDS Festival of arts and ecology. Now set to launch its second summer at EARTHDANCE in Massachusetts, SEEDS is an international, interdisciplinary festival, forging connections between innovative artists and scientists.

Special update from Olive Bieringa: The curators and Earthdance staff are in the process of reshaping the festival in order to attune to the changes that are coming up. In the upcoming weeks leading up to SEEDS, we will modify the format. For more details, look at the website: www.earthdance.net/seeds, or call us at 413-634-5678. Thank you.
