For the first time, Kinetic Cinema will be presented by MovieHouse at 3rd Ward, a screening series that presents the very best in local filmmaking amidst cool beats, drinks, snacks and creative conversation.

For MovieHouse, choreographer and dance critic Aynsley Vandenbroucke will present a program that explores the institution of marriage both in light of the recent fights and victories for gay marriage, and her personal quest for creative models of partnership that celebrate individuality while providing true, long-lasting support. In this evening of Kinetic Cinema, we'll look at questions of marriage as explored in a number of films. We'll discuss and debate them, and the dialogue that ensues will be recorded and used to form the foundation for a new performance piece Vandenbroucke is making surrounding these questions.

Aynsley Vandenbroucke's work has been hailed as "meticulously distilled" by the New York Press and deemed akin to "attending a service in an unfamiliar house of worship, ritualistic, meditative" by The New York Times.
