Barnett brings solo to the Joyce

Dancer-choreographer Julian Barnett describes the circumstances of the latest presentation of his 2009 solo work--Echologue--as "nerve-wracking." Twenty minutes alone on the stage of the Joyce Theater nerve-wracking? Nah. Couldn't be.

It's also a return to New York for Barnett who has been away in Arnhem, Netherlands for an MA program in choreography.

Why encourage this folly?
The solo is me. The venue is huge. The timing is perfect. The reason is easy. The motivation is art. The feeling is moving. The thinking is open. The experience is genuine. The dancing is present. The performance is visible. And your attendance is so so appreciated.
