One of the most effective elements in the new production of Peter Shaffer's Equus at the Broadhurst Theatre--along with Richard Griffiths's unusual but curiously-apt understatement and the way Daniel Radcliffe's creepy performance obliterates any thought of Harry Potter--is the vibrant, elegant staging for the chorus of horses. Shaffer's narrative seems a bit dated and heavy-handed today, but that staging offers zaps of fresh electricity. A tip of the hat to movement director Fin Walker and his dancers Collin Baja, Tyrone A. Jackson, Spencer Liff, Adesola Osakalumi, Lorenzo Pisoni and Marc Spaulding.
