Haruki Murakami: Jazz Messenger

As a young dance critic, I used to write to the boisterous rhythms of rock. Nowadays, I must have silence and concentration! :-D But I was pleasantly reminded of my past when I read novelist Haruki Murakami's wonderful essay in today's New York Times about how jazz music spurred him to write fiction and how its rhythms inform his writing.
